right hand man - a very dinosaur-y gift
Apr. 30th, 2022 09:44 pmIzzy knew Stede Bonnet meant trouble from the moment they set foot on that Spanish galleon to - do what, exactly? Loose men, risk their lives to do what? Save a man Edwards has never even seen before?
He knew Stede Bonnet meant trouble and found out he was definitely right the moment Edward decided to hole up in the captain’s quarter to tend to an injured imbecile none of them knows or particularly care about.
(Still, Izzy tries not to doubt his captain, keeps up with his work, keeps up handling everything that needs to be handled and never, not once, trusts fucking Stede Bonnet.)
Izzy would love to say he was wrong. Would almost like to say he was wrong, and everyone else was right, because anything, anything would be better than having to see Edward Teach like that.
Suffering like that, frail like that, hollow like that.
Izzy sees him like he’s never seen him before, beaten down and broken to a shell of a man he doesn’t even recognize anymore. He sees him trying to find his footing and hoping to feel better by trying to hold on to the memory of Stede Bonnet.
Izzy knows he has one job, as Blackbeard’s right hand man, as the only one who can get him back.
He needs to protect him.
From the world, from Stede Bonnet, from his enemies. Most of all, from himself.
Izzy will do anything to make sure no one can hurt Blackbeard anymore.
